Mr. Mick, my dear sir, to most people, this would be just an old wagon wheel; but in the eyes of an accomplished artist, it's a beautiful work of art. You see beauty all around you because you have beauty in your soul, my brother.

Mick Anderson replied:

Thank you, my friend! In my opinion, you can find new images in old 'stuff'... :)

Excellent composition, excellent details - I can almost "feel" the rough weathered wood. Great title too! * * * F/L/g+/P

Mick Anderson replied:

Many thanks Bill! I glad you like the earth feel of this image :))

Mick, This is another of your many fabulous photos. I like the point of view, the textured look and the whole composition so very much. Thank you dear Mick for your kind comments. F/V

Mick Anderson replied:

Anne, I love looking at your wonderful art!! And thank you dear friend for your comments on mine :)))

Oh the stories it could tell!.... Worn and weathered, it remembers days past... I love the paucity of colour here...just grays and rust brown...very effective, Mick! V

Mick Anderson replied:

Thank you Sandi! Yes, wouldn't you love to hear the stories? I know I would!! :)

Geoff Crego

Mick, stunning closeup capture; nice lighting, and love the clarity in the textures. vtd

Mick Anderson replied:

Thank you Geoff! This old wheel was leaning up against a fence at a farm I was visiting. I too love the detail and textures in this historic old relic. :)

Bonita Hensley

Bonita Hensley

I like the texture of this photo.

Mick Anderson replied:

Thank you Bonita! I really liked the intense detail in the worn wood... which you correctly interpret as texture! :)

About Mick Anderson

Mick Anderson

While in college, Mick had the opportunity to work at St. Mary Lodge at the east entrance to Glacier National Park in Montana. It was in this magical place where he met several fellow students from other parts of the country who would change the direction of his life by introducing Mick to nature, the mountains, the guitar and singing, fly fishing, writing music, hiking, and -- most importantly -- the Single Lens Reflex camera! He had a chance to play with Pentacon, Yashica, Pentax, Nikon and other brands, leading cameras of the day. It opened up a whole new way of looking at the world, and started a hobby that quickly grew into a passion that has stood the test of many years. His first “real” camera was a Yashica “Electro-35”...
