About Mick Anderson
While in college, Mick had the opportunity to work at St. Mary Lodge at the east entrance to Glacier National Park in Montana. It was in this magical place where he met several fellow students from other parts of the country who would change the direction of his life by introducing Mick to nature, the mountains, the guitar and singing, fly fishing, writing music, hiking, and -- most importantly -- the Single Lens Reflex camera! He had a chance to play with Pentacon, Yashica, Pentax, Nikon and other brands, leading cameras of the day. It opened up a whole new way of looking at the world, and started a hobby that quickly grew into a passion that has stood the test of many years. His first “real” camera was a Yashica “Electro-35”...

Mick Anderson replied:
Well, hello "neighbor"... :) Thank you for the nice comment! I'll be driving through Redding in a couple of weeks -- if the snow doesn't close the passes!! :)

Mick, I have enjoyed your new series focusing on the quaint businesses in Grants Pass, but this is my favorite. I think because I have such a fondness for discovering "ghost signs" and this building has two great ones! voted
Mick Anderson replied:
Cheri, I had to try several positions before I was satisfied that I could reveal both old advertisements on this historic downtown building! Thanks for seeing what I saw :)
Sharon Burger
Grants pass seems a quaint little town, I've seen cottage grove which is a lot like this..
Mick Anderson replied:
Yes! Cottage Grove is not too far to the north, and I plan on doing a study of that town in the future :)
Bill Owen
Great textured colors, Mick. Perfect lighting!
Mick Anderson replied:
Thanks Bill, "right place, right time, right Photoshop filters!" LOL! Actually, I didn't have to do too much -- it's a very colorful building :)
