Love the warmth of this image!

Mick Anderson replied:

Thank you Suzanne!! It's amazing what you can find when you get down to ground level!! :)

How wonderful. I try each year to get a good image of the prairie verbena seed heads but each year I fail. You have a fantastic job capturing these wonderfully weird little bits of nature. l/f/pin

Mick Anderson replied:

This was experimental, for sure, but glad it turned out decent... and very happy you like it!! I did NOT know the name of the plant!! :)

Mick Anderson replied:

You should see them now! UGLY!!! :) Thank you, Marcia!

WHAT SOME CALL WEEDS, perhaps noisome, worthless weeds, is a source of beauty and inspiration for a virtuoso artist who sees beauty in everything because he has beauty in his soul. That's one of the differences between a true artist and those who are almost dead inside because they miss the sublime beauty that surrounds them. Beauty emanates from within. It's not out there. It's in your soul.

Mick Anderson replied:

I did not know the name of this weed... except that as a kid I would make 'scissors' out of them by sticking one of those spears through the other! Thank you GREATLY for those fine comments!! You have quite an insight, my friend :)

About Mick Anderson

Mick Anderson

While in college, Mick had the opportunity to work at St. Mary Lodge at the east entrance to Glacier National Park in Montana. It was in this magical place where he met several fellow students from other parts of the country who would change the direction of his life by introducing Mick to nature, the mountains, the guitar and singing, fly fishing, writing music, hiking, and -- most importantly -- the Single Lens Reflex camera! He had a chance to play with Pentacon, Yashica, Pentax, Nikon and other brands, leading cameras of the day. It opened up a whole new way of looking at the world, and started a hobby that quickly grew into a passion that has stood the test of many years. His first “real” camera was a Yashica “Electro-35”...
